TECHNICAL PROGRAM

Dakota Stage Ltd. and Shade Tree Players are proud to bring back their Children's Technical Theatre Program. STP is thrilled to once again be able to offer this hands-on, informative and educational session. All students between the ages of 12 and 18 are encouraged to register for this exciting course, where they will learn the fundamentals of theatrical design, construction and implimentation. Parents are also welcome to participate in the program. The instructor will work closely with kids of all experience levels to show them the basic steps of creating theatrical scenery, lighting and sound. They will teach children about tools, materials and safety, and walk them through the the design and build process. This session is perfect for anyone who wants to be involved in theatre but is not comfortable being on stage, for anyone who loves being on stage and wants to see what goes on behind the scenes, and for everyone in between! Skill in technical theatre that will expand creative students' knowledge of the art form and prove useful to them through academia into the professional world.

"Goin' courting"� has never been as much fun as in this rip-roaring stage version of the popular MGM movie, adapted by Lawrence Kasha and David Landay. Set in Oregon in 1850, SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS tells the story of Millie, a young bride living in the 1850's Oregon wilderness. Her plan to civilize and marry off her six rowdy brothers-in-law to ensure the success of her own marriage backfires when the brothers, in their enthusiasm, kidnap six women from a neighboring town to be their brides. Bursting with the rambunctious energy of the original film, SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS is all boisterous fun and romance that harkens back to the glory days of the movie musical.SEVEN BRIDES FOR SEVEN BROTHERS is a glorious romp suitable for middle school, high school, and community theatre productions. This show's large ensemble is a perfect opportunity to showcase many performers of all types.

Dakota Stage Ltd. is proud to present LIVE STAND UP COMEDY! Headlined by the hilarious, internationally touring comic, Jay Wendell Walker, and featuring a special guest opener, this exciting and exclusive showcase of extraordinary, experienced standup comedy is not to be missed! On Friday, April 5th and Saturday, April 6th at 8:00pm, a funny-man feature comic will deliver a riotous 30 minute set followed by an hysterical hour of laughs presented by Seattle based, world renowned comedian, Jay Wendell Walker in his 52nd anniversary "Still Standing Tour." Jay is well known for his cross-generational appeal, dynamic monologues and hilarious facial expressions. He was seen on The Ed Sullivan Show, was the oldest winner of the San Francisco Comedy Competition in the company of Robin Williams and Will Durst and recently produced a stunning showcase at the Bing Crosby Theatre in Spokane. At an age when most men think about retirement, Jay is just getting warmed up. Already a fixture of the comedy scene for more than 50 years, Jay seems to be getting funnier with age. In fact, the critics all seem to agree that Walker has accomplished more than making a come-back: he has come back stronger and better than ever! This national comedic treasure is a must see! Concessions will be available for purchase at the theatre and a cash bar will be provided in house. Tickets are just $15 per person (for two standup comics!) and are available at the box office prior to the events only. Doors will open at 7:00pm each night. Seating is limited for both showings and advanced reservations are not available so patrons should arrive early to ensure admission.
