Netflix has announced that the comedy special Jo Koy: Live From Brooklyn will premiere globally on June 4, 2024. The special was filmed at The Kings Theatre in Brooklyn, NY in November 2023. This marks Koy’s fifth special with Netflix, following Live From The Los Angeles Forum (2022), Comin’ In Hot (2019),  and Live From Seattle (2017), in addition to his variety special In His Elements (2020). 

In blood-soaked Tudor England, twice married, accomplished, and educated Katherine Parr (Vikander), reluctantly agrees to become the sixth wife of the tyrannical King Henry VIII (Law). Her consent to marry him carries great personal risk, given that her predecessors are either vanquished, beheaded, or dead. De Niro Con​, a celebration of 80 years of Robert De Niro, has unveiled its programming lineup. Coinciding with the 2024 Tribeca Festival, this three-day tribute takes place at Spring Studios in New York City from June 14-16. According to Deadline, Harry Lawtey, an actor who will next appear in Joker: Folie A Deux, has been cast as Tony-Award-winning actor Richard Burton in an upcoming film that will center on the actor as a young man. Lawtey will appear alongside Toby Jones and Lesley Manville in the film.

According to Variety, Tony-Award-nominated actor Jeremy Strong may be appearing alongside Jeremy Allen White in the upcoming biopic of Bruce Springsteen. In the film, the Enemy of the People star would play Jon Landau, the longtime manager of Springsteen (White). Strong is currently starring in the Broadway play, for which he was nominated for his first Tony Award.

A new comedy from NBC’s The Office adapter Greg Daniels and Nathan for You co-creator Michael Koman has been picked up to series at Peacock. The Untitled Daniels/Koman project is a new mockumentary series set in the same universe as NBC’s Emmy Award-winning hit series The Office.

Disney Branded Television has released the main title theme song and announced the premiere date for the highly anticipated animated musical series “Disney Jr.’s Ariel.” Inspired by “The Little Mermaid,” the series will debut on THURSDAY, JUNE 27, on Disney Junior (9:00 a.m. EDT/PDT) and air on Disney Channel later that day, with an initial batch of eight episodes available on Disney+ the following day, FRIDAY, JUNE 28. ERA Coalition Forward has announced the Hollywood premiere of the award-winning documentary 'Still Working 9 to 5' by filmmakers Camille Hardman and Gary Lane in honor of women's equality trailblazers Lily Tomlin, Jane Fonda, and Dolly Parton. Heading into the season one finale, Food Network has ordered a second season of 24 in 24: Last Chef Standing. The freshman culinary competition series, hosted by Esther Choi and Michael Symon, features 24 talented and fearless chefs who take on 24 food challenges in 24 consecutive, non-stop hours. At the end of the 24 hours, the chef who cooked the best for the longest, and outlasted the competition, is the only one left standing.

According to reports, Michelle Yeoh, who will play Madame Morrible in the upcoming musical film Wicked, has found her latest project. Yeoh will be playing the lead in the upcoming Blade Runner limited series from Prime Video, which recently began production. Later this year, Yeoh will be seen in Wicked alongside Ariana Grande and Cynthia Erivo.

Paramount+ has announced that LET THE CANARY SING, the feature-length documentary exploring the remarkable life and career of Cyndi Lauper, will premiere exclusively on the service in the U.S. and Canada on Tuesday, June 4. Lauper is a prolific musician, with a career spanning over 40 years. In addition to her many studio albums, Lauper won a Tony Award for her score for Kinky Boots! and was nominated for her work on Spongebob Squarepants. Watch the trailer!

Netflix has announced the start of production on Wednesday Season 2 in Ireland with several new cast members joining the series. Fan-favorite Thing delivered new scripts to cast members on set, including several that are newly announced.

Hannah Waddingham stopped by The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon on Monday evening to discuss her role in the film The Fall Guy and other projects. According to reports, Faye Dunaway and Harvey Keitel will be starring together in a new supernatural romance film from director Jonathan Baker. Actor Andrew McCarthy of The Blacklist will also be appearing in the film. The plot of the movie, titled Fate, is being kept under wraps but is reported to be set at a 'Vista hotel', taking its inspiration from the historic Vista Theatre in Los Angeles, now owned by Quentin Tarantino.
