"Happiness Is" is a wonderful song...Georgia Brown's voice was completely trashed by 1987 though. My mom's friend saw it and said it was god awful.

HAHAHA - I have listened to that song so much that I like it...like electro-shock therapy.

I think her voice works though...

It is definitely worse than Carrie...but probably better than Brooklyn and In My Life.

Yes, Marcia Lewis was Madame Katz...she did not have a very big part. Was she also heartbroken when Rags closed?

How did you and Marcia meet Beaverhausen?

"Georgia Brown's voice was completely trashed by 1987 though."

I wouldn't say that. She's always had a very throaty voice. It's a very unique voice. And of course, she went on to do 3 Penny Opera and a concert version of Mack & Mabel after that. I have several of her albums and think it's a very interesting voice.

ok, sorry for using the word 'trashed.' "Happiness Is" does sound very throaty though.

I didn't know she did a concert version of Mack & Mabel...I'd love to hear a recording of that! What year was that?

The concert of Mack & Mabel was in London in 1988. She sang the song "Time Heals Everything". Unfortunately, I don't think it was her best performance. She tends to throw her voice into her nose and really stretches out the word "Heeeeeaaaaaaallllls".

But there is a recording of it out there.

hold up---how can you say its BETTER THAN IN MY LIFE when the show hasnt even opened yet or begun previews!!?? Definately an inaccurate and thoughtless comment (though not many people on this board were endowed with the power of knowledge, exception to MARGO and a few others) once you see the show (regardless of its quality) you may bash it all you want, but until then please dont comment about the quality of a show unless you've seen it!!

BEcause, I've heard the music to both...and even the worst song in Roza is better than the best demo song.

re: ROZA

Just get over it and spread the ROZA love.

Trace - there is NO flop I will allow to rest in peace.

I've come to the realization that flops aren't bad, they are just way ahead of their time.

just because the demo wasnt the best music ever, doesnt mean the show wont be something special, even if it isnt, you must see the show in its entirety before you can bash something

i said that Roza is "probably better than Brooklyn and In My Life" because I did not see Roza and I have not seen In My Life yet. I will be at the first preview of In My Life though on September 30th.
