Maybe they can do this again but with more musicals in some kind of ranked choice system so you end up with a more even bracket.

Two complaints-- why cut off the Tony winners at the year 1960? Are the shows that premiered from 1948 to 1959 not among the greatest ever written?

Second, I know it would be unwieldy, but I really wish they wouldn't restrict the choices to each year's Best Musical winners alone. Just to look at Sondheim's output as an example, that eliminated WEST SIDE STORY, GYPSY, FOLLIES, SUNDAY... and INTO THE WOODS from consideration.

Honestly, what will it matter anyhow when HAMILTON will no doubt slay every opponent and come out on top, despite the votes of us oldsters on BWW?

First, just a note that we love all the feedback and suggestions which have been shared with the team for future rounds. Ultimately, the team had to have criteria to create a grouping of 64 shows to keep things at a reasonable length and our methodology seemed most objective.

With that said, we've been told we can can confirm future brackets, polls, and features are in the works based on all the feedback provided (both here, and on social media.)

It was a tough choice and I ultimately chose Les Mis over Sweeney Todd, but I'm still sad to see such a large disparity in the votes.  Also the matchup between In the Heights and Hamilton just feels fitting

I kept getting an error message when I tried voting in the second round.  I waited a day or so and then it worked.

I finally understand all the bellyaching my family does about their March Madness brackets. That last round was a bloodbath and I’ve lost all interest

It was obvious to me from the first frame that HAMILTON would best all comers and come out on top. Seeing the vote tallies for the final four, it's playing out just as predicted.

Next time: allow non-Tony winners like WEST SIDE STORY and FOLLIES. Allow shows dating back to at least OKLAHOMA. (Apologies to SHOWBOAT, ANYTHING GOES and PORGY & BESS.) And somehow the matchups need to mix decades more liberally. And you know what? I bet HAMILTON will still come out on top. Sigh.

Jesus. They give us something new and fun to do that they absolutely didn’t have to do and that no one is required to participate in and people still complain about it.

I don't mind Hamilton winning because it is a strong show and there's recency-bias but The Sound of Music making it so far is baffling given the other shows... I just don't understand what kind of voter pushes these four shows to the end. I think it was fun but they definitely need to adjust the bracket if they try this again so similar shows are paired up or the weak shows get dropped first. But also, there was just some bonkers voting.
