However, do you think press like this is sending the wrong message - it makes it look like Alicia is IN THE SHOW!!!!!!!!"
100% agree! It's feels like a very calculated press decision. All they needed to do was have Alicia introduce the number. That being said I thought it played really well and got me interested in the show which til now wasn't really on my radar.

Similar marketing error to the one that Harmony made- when people were convinced that it was a Barry Manilow jukebox musical, and then Ken Davenport had to do last minute damage control. One would think they would have learned from that mistake. Can't wait until people start thinking Tammy Faye is an Elton John jukebox musical.
"Kaleidoscope" is easily the best number in the show. One of the very few bright spots in an otherwise very messy evening of theatre. I'm curious to hear if they make some book changes for Broadway. The book Off-Broadway was a disastere... However, I have a feeling this will mostly remain the same.
"There’s nothing quite like the power and the passion of Broadway music. "

It’s shortly after Ali first meets Kecia Lewis’s character and her world seems to open up, according to Keys on her Instagram page."
That sounds right, when I saw the show at the public it very much felt like the "everything is falling into place" part of the story, which felt a little early in the overall show but I agree that it is one of the best numbers in the show.
I can't get behind the whole underage girl getting physical with an older man, I wish they focused more on the storyline with Kecia and Ali's relationship with her mom.
Hoping they have made a lot of changes from the Public. Beyond the music it wasn't good. That book was bland and predictable. It was over choreographed which has become very clear with their television performances.

Same here. If they need to make cuts they don’t need to have the older guy take his shirt off and make out with Ali while her mom was at work. I feel they have enough to work with on Ali’s relationships with Kecia, her mom, and her dad.
