What do you mean?   The grammar is creative.

No, "Hamilton" has been sold out for months because it stinks. "Fun Home" won the Tony for "Best Musical" because it is horrible - lol.

I haven't heard anyone say anything bad about either of these musicals on this board.

Disaster is better by far than either of them. It'll sweep the Tony Awards this year.

Hamilton is far better than Fun Home, IMO- Fun Home was just okay and if I didn't even bother seeing it, that would have been okay.  I love gay themed musicals- but this one was poorly staged in the round- and for me, I just did not connect with it.  I found the music forgettable and really felt it was mediocre- enjoyed Kinky Boots, Beautiful, even School of Rock much more.  Hamilton is a history lesson come to life- quite brilliant and groundbreaking- and a must-see because of its pedigree.  Did I love it?  Actually- not really- at least not the first time around- and I was in row 3 so that not hearing or seeing well was not an issue.  There was so much history coming at me that as times I was not sure what was happening- the two Schuyler sisters and the Reynolds affair- then all these generals and historic figures- coming at times so fast that I really could not take it all in.  I am a history buff and knew quite a lot- but did not connect as viscerally as many people did.  I do work out to the soundtrack at the gym at times- and the music is great- I do want to see it again and I bet I love it a lot more the second time around.  I hope Lin is still in it- love him- saw him in In The Heights and he is wonderful.

"Poorly staged"

Yeah that's why it won the Tony for best director.

It was all right. It was interesting to see how Hamilton balanced his political career with his job as a funeral director.

Fun Home is excellent, and very well done and staged! Incredibly talented actors as well.

I would say not worth seeing if Cats is coming back.

The song where little King George III sees a man in a wig for the first time and realizes he is queerer than a 30-cent coin was incredibly moving.

"Do you have AfterEight blocked?  (Cuz, you really should, if you don't)"

Then why haven't you followed your own advice?

As for the OP's original question: no, neither is worth seeing. In fact, you're advised to go out of your way to avoid both.

They're both excellent. Hamilton is the stronger one, though mostly because the score is better. However, tickets are actually possible to come by for Fun Home.

BWAY Baby2 I felt I was taking a spin class with you at your gym I read your post so quickly I was EXHAUSTED by the end-and totally forgotten what you wrote.....but then...PJ-you made my night. I have absolutely no idea what that had to do with anything but I then went on to watch lots more of the same and as I'll never see either of those show, I don't care 'cause I'll always have Tom and Jerry.

To Bway 411

If you did not like either the first time, why go back a 2nd time?

Fun did not do it for me sorry. Did not see Hamilton so I cannot comment.

Nope. They're both almost universally loathed by nearly all who see them, the only exceptions being a tiny handful of brainwashed fascist minions who keep shoving them down the throat of an innocent, unsuspecting public.

If only more people had the courage to stand up and say "Enough of this depraved and debauched critical hegemony! Bring back Herman!"
