Hey kids! Making my way to the city April 13-21 and here are the shows on my list...let me know if I have missed anything or if there are any other shows which are must see!!

American Psycho, The Color Purple, The Kind and I (didn't get a chance to see this last year on my trip and really wanna see Kelli O'Hara) , On Your Feet (the boyfriend insists on this one), Suffle Along, Waitress, and She Loves Me. Am I missing any others? I'm not even going to attempt Hamilton...maybe we will try the lottery if we have an open slot.  We were in the city around the same time last year and saw eight shows including Fun Home and An American in Paris. I had many other shows on my maybe list, the seven I listed are the ones which we are most interested in...let me know what you think!

Looks like a great line up.

If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it? These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.

I'd add Daddy Long Legs to the mix. It's off-Broadway, but it's just the most endearing, beautiful show with a wonderful score!

I'm looking forward to Tuck Everlasting, obviously haven't seen it, so I don't know how good it will be.

Otherwise, the list sounds good as far as new shows go, don't know what you might have skipped last year that is still around...

Sounds like you make an annual trip, so I don't know if you've already seen "Something Rotten." For me, it was sheer joyful fun. I don't think you can go wrong with anything on your list, but if you're looking for a big, splashy, funny and thoroughly entertaining musical, I can't recommend "Something Rotten" enough.

(p.s. While countless theatergoers loved the show as I did, stay tuned for mean & nasty posts telling me I'm a moron or worse for suggesting it.)

If you get to see Color Purple and King and I (with Kelli O'Hara), then you've had a wonderful trip, even if you spent the rest of the time sitting in your hotel room staring at the test pattern.

I'm also looking forward to Shuffle Along (which the cynic inside me says cant be as good as it looks now), and She Loves Me.

I can't put my finger on it, but I'm not (yet) enthralled with Waitress or Tuck or Psycho.  But I could be very wrong about that trio.

The two best things I've seen this year are easily Hamilton and Purple.  To me, they are a cut above everything else that is new (and has opened) for 2015/16.

"Dear Evan Hansen" got good word of mouth in Washington, DC and is playing at Second Stage.  And though I wouldn't necessarily place it at the top 5, "Bright Star" was a pretty good small folksy and enjoyable show when I saw it at the Old Globe in San Diego.  And I saw "Daddy Long Legs" in its original run on the west coast.  Speaking of folksy shows, the Roundabout is doing "Robber Bridegroom" with Steven Pasquale.

I am arriving just after you leave for my theatre trip for just over a week and a half with "Hamilton" (got my tickets last October), "Shuffle Along", "Dear Evan Hansen", "American Psycho", "Tuck Everlasting", "Waitess", "Fiddler", "The Humans", "The Crucible", "School of Rock" and "Paramour".  I saw Roundabout's previous production of "She Loves Me" so I may see that if I have time and can get a discounted ticket.  A friend of mine saw workshops of "Nerds" and said it's actually pretty good.  But I can't get excited for that.  I saw "King and I" and "Something Rotten" last year and they were "wonderful" and "fun" respectively.  I also was lucky enough to see "Hamilton".   Sounds like you have a good line up.  Have a great time.

I already have my tickets for Waitress and She Loves Me, so I'm really excited about those two- they have a lot of hype. And Waitress had a great run at the ART, so I recommend that!

For Off-Broadway, definitely look into Daddy Long Legs! The music is so beautiful and it's one of the best Off-Broadway shows out there right now.

I'm also thinking about this for my April trip. I have tickets for Hamlilton, and then I was thinking Waitress, Shuffle Along, Fiddler and possibly The Color Purple, since I saw they have a show on Sunday night. I'll also be there for the Light in the Piazza concert, which, together with Hamilton, makes me super excited.

Anyone knows how the rush for Fiddler has been lately?

Thanks for all your suggestions and input! I wish I had more time as there are many shows I'd like to see but just won't get to...I'm very interested in Dear Evan Hansen. Also School of Rock. As far as Something Rotten goes I would like to see it, but my boyfriend has zero interest in it.

I'm also going to NYC in April. Have space for 7 shows and so far have:

Waitress, Hamilton, Shuffle Along, Blackbird and Steeetcar.

Likely will be adding Color Purple so have 1 slot left. I try and see all tours that come through PNW and have saw Fun Home, curious incident, and FN on my most recent trip. Any suggestions for the last slot. Potentially deciding between fiddler American psycho, she loves me. Or do I go see a classic like King and I ?

I would go see She Loves Me, if I were you. But I don't know much about American Psycho, so I can't judge that one. Fiddler is also very good though.

I would go with She Loves Me, I have very high hopes for that show.

Fiddler and King & I are both good, but I feel like they are good because the shows are. You could see a regional production (or the tours that are bound to happen) and still have a great experience.
