I've watched this on PBS and while it may not be everyones cup of tea, I wouldn't mind seeing it live on stage. The only info out there is that PBS is giving tickets away during their pledge drive and they say it's playing at the Simon this spring. No official announcement has been made, no advertising, no marquee is up and the website has no info. Does anybody out there have any inside info as to whether or not this is actually coming to the Simon this spring? I know Cats is supposedly going into that theatre this fall and it is only February but some sort of info should be public by now, right?

I remember the public release about a month ago saying that it will play the Neil Simon for a limited time. It was on Playbill, BWW, Broadway.com, etc. Haven't heard anything since. Maybe things fell through?

I asked one of the actors from the pbs special performance on Instagram, Lisa lambe, and they finally answered. They said it's not currently coming in. I can't link the post where they answered since they are private. I wouldn't say anything about since they could have re cast the entire show, but who knows.

Supposedly the Irish come in but you don't necessarily feel it.

"Impossible is just a big word thrown around by small men who find it easier to live in the world they've been given than to explore the power they have to change it. Impossible is not a fact. It's an opinion. Impossible is not a declaration. It's a dare. Impossible is potential. Impossible is temporary. Impossible is nothing.” ~ Muhammad Ali

I don't know exactly what was done for the current London production of Cats in terms of incorporating the interior of the house into the design, but I imagine they'll be transforming the Neil Simon into a more immersive space. Hopefully, it'll be half as stunning as I've read the Winter Garden was for the original run.

That conversion is going to be difficult with the balcony sightlines in the Simon. In the Winter Garden they had a semi thrust space (like wolf hall last year), which works because a large portion of what is typically the orchestra is visible from the balcony, where as in the simon you can barely see down to the edge of the stage from the balcony unless you are abnormally tall.
