I skimmed your blog. I love your enthusiasm for HAMILTON I only have one minor quibble, don't refer to HAMILTON'S cast recording as a soundtrack. The term 'soundtrack' is used for a recording of a score or music from a motion picture. A 'cast recording' is the correct term, as HAMILTON is a stage musical and it's a recording of the show's cast.
Thanks for sharing your enthusiasm for this great show and I really do hope you get the chance to finally see it!
That is sad. If that's true if a Broadway performer is incapable of using the correct term then yes I guess the battle has indeed been lost - - - ignorance prevails.
Record stores have always called them soundtracks, too. But really, movie soundtracks aren't soundtracks either, they're music tracks. So it's a misnomer no matter what. But it's also a word everyone understands no matter how inaccurate it is, so maybe it's time to let it go.
Renée Elise Goldsberry referred to it as the "soundtrack" after the host did on CBS's coverage of the Thanksgiving parade. The battle has been lost.
Oh contrayer! The graceful tact displayed by a gloriously reverent being is considered a quiet victory. In other words, Goldsberry always wins. Always.
Amen.

I live in Michigan and would never walk to New York...let alone from LA, holy crap that's a long way. Michael, do you know how wide the continent is???
"Contentment, it seems, simply happens. It appears accompanied by no bravos and no tears."
Obviously few read his blog....he's not actually going to walk to NY, he's just blathering about his desire to see the show.
Additionally, he obviously is either 1 looking for more hits to his blog, or 2 hoping that LMM will see this and send him free tix. (As evidenced by the lack of return to this thread...or any other (as far as I can tell.)
Lord, what a "look at me" society we live in.

I read the blog entry but he didn't really specify whether of not he would actually be walking to NYC or not. But I agree with you, he may be hoping for free tickets (which I think Lin-Manuel mentioned even he couldn't get free tickets or some such nonsense).

It's just a term that the person used. Like saying about a television placement. "Where does the set go?"
Some say flat screen or television. Give him a break, he is walking here to see a sold out show. Or is he hoping someone will give him a ticket and a plane ride?
He's not walking anywhere. He's looking for attention. And maybe a handout.
