I plan to go but I want to give it a few weeks so he can settle in......it should be interesting to say the least. I have seen Billy and Kyle so far...
I've been dying to see the show in general but never got around to getting tickets. I love Wayne Brady so I figured this would give me motivation to buy tickets. im thinking about going in January after the holidays calm down.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?

No BUT! I received an email last Sunday advertising Wayne Brady in Kinky Boots and offering discounted tickets. I was reading the asterisk at the bottom and there were some dates that the discount would not apply. I noticed there were a few dates in January that the discount would not apply to. I mean the email was sent to advertise him. So I'd say maybe January? I mean it makes sense to me. Why would they list dates in January if he wouldn't be performing?
Wayne Brady is in the show longer than January theres dates lited that he won't be performing due to prior engagements. If you keep looking the dates go into march
Thank you, Kathy! My son really wants to see Brady....but now he's torn as Fiddler has caught his eye!
I suppose well have to make another trip in!

So, I'm slightly confused. Wayne Brady had his first curtain call on the 21st and has performed over the last week (even rapped for BC/EFA) but Kinky Boots is promoting tonight as opening night for him. Have they been treating the last week or so as a "preview" period for him or something? I can't recall when I have seen that happen before for a replacement.

It's fairly common, actually, in situations where a high-profile replacement comes in and critics plan to re-review the show. (Not every replacement gets reviewed, obviously). Recent examples include both Emma Stone and Sienna Miller in CABARET, and Bernadette Peters and Elaine Stritch in A LITTLE NIGHT MUSIC.

Ahhh... I have heard of having a delayed invite for press to return in order to let an actor get into a groove, but I hadn't noticed it being advertised as much (then again, I wasn't watching Cabaret that closely last year)
