Hi All - I'm bringing a friends daughter to her 1st Broadway Show - The Color Purple. She is a HUGE JHud fan. I was wondering if anyone has stagedoored the show and if Jennifer has been signing or taking pics. I would love to surprise this kid with meeting Jennifer at the stage door. Thanks
Thanks I just got off the phone with her mom and she said all she has been talking about is the show and hopefully taking a selfie with Jennifer I told her no guarantees but I know she is hoping for that
I was there on Monday and ditto to what Jordan has said. I had a quick little chat with Danielle Brooks which was great. Cynthia Erivo was resting her voice but signed and was (non-verbally) very sweet.
All three leading ladies came out at the same time - I'm not sure if that's a regular thing. I did note on the Color Purple thread that it's a two sided gauntlet style stage door, not a long row. So if you aren't in the first row or two it won't really be possible to get a photo or autograph. So, don't skip the curtain call, but hustle out of the theatre as soon as that's done.
Just wanted to post update Was outside Color Purple and security announced Jennifer was ill and not signing. It was a small crowd and before long she came out and started signing and posing. She wasnt speaking to save her voice but her smile was great!! We were against the gate and she came right over. I told her that the show was my friends daughters 1st ever and she wanted to see Jennifer. Jennifer gave a huge smile shook her hand, signed the poster the playbill and posed for a pic. My friends kid will never forget it! Thanks all for the heads up
Ryantbo2: was that today? Interesting that she still signed after they said she wouldn't. I stage-doored last night and she didn't come out.
I was fine with that though. As I implied earlier in the thread, it was Danielle Brooks who I was really looking forward to. She was very kind and posed for pictures.
