Roundabout has HipTix for everyone production (except in the Black Box because those are $25 anyway). I don't see any reason to think they won't for this.
This just shot to the top of my "Most Anticipated Shows of the Season" list. PERFECT casting, perfect choice of director. I'm definitely purchasing a ticket to the first night of this one, Hiptix or otherwise.
Although a fan of both Kevin Kline and Barry Bostwick, I somehow never saw this show. With news of Pasquale's casting, I'm now doubly brimming with anticipation. Yessss!
Funny I suggested this show for Jake Gyllenhaal in an earlier thread. Steve is perhaps the most versatile Broadway musical theatre star of his generation. I am sure he will be wonderful for he always is.
I adore this show. For those who don't know it, Kevin Kline and Patti LuPone did it together, when the were very young.
Here are Kevin Michael Murphy and the irrepressible Jennifer Ashley Tepper giving an overview of the show at one of their early editions of If It Only Even Runs a MInute. After they talk about the show, Jo Philbin sings the song "Sleepy Man":
I don't think it is the most challenging role Steven has ever been offered but I am sure he will belt out his numbers with chilling effect and turn in a Tony nominated performance.
Has anyone heard of any additional casting for this?
Tonya Pinkins: Then we had a "Lot's Wife" last June that was my personal favorite. I'm still trying to get them to let me sing it at some performance where we get to sing an excerpt that's gone.
Tony Kushner: You can sing it at my funeral.
