According to BC/EFA, the collection period for Gypsy of the Year has begun! Post here what kind of merchandise/special experiences shows are offering and for how much in exchange for donations to BC/EFA. Book of Mormon and Hand To God are already accepting donations.

"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." Hand To God wasn't collecting when I went on Tuesday, I heard they were holding off until Bob Saget started.

Dames At Sea had signed playbills for $20, no signed posters as of 10/28. Plus you can take a picture with any cast member out collecting for $5

Something Rotten! has signed posters for $100. They also have aprons, magnets and pins. Not sure about the prices on those.

Shows in preview typically don't, so probably not until after opening.

It doesn't have to do with the collection period specifically, but Hamilton is offering cast-signed playbills through the mail for a minimum $40 donation to BC/EFA. Whether they are offering them in-house yet, I don't know.

Something Rotten seemed to be selling a lot of their merch. Those omelette-recipe aprons, shotglasses, signed windowcards, magnets... Also tonight they offered the Toby sketch headshot (or whatever they called it) signed by Christian for $100.

I was at Book of Mormon last night. As an aside, I got there about 4:15 and was the first one in the standing room line, if anyone wants to see the show while the tourists are gone

They are selling signed posters for $200 and are offering 2 Gavin Creel backstage tour slots for $2500 each, and I think both sold yesterday-They really want to beat Wicked this year.

At Fun Home last night, Roberta did the BCEFA speech and at the end literally a woman in the front row got up on stage and was like i'll give you $500 for a photo and the cast was like ahhhhh oh ahhhhh ok and they continued, she then got back up and roberta called a stage manger on stage as everybody left to figure it out, The lady was interrupting them as they were all talking to the audience like WTF? Beth was giving away a drawing she drew through the shows of the Bechdel house but in spooky form for Halloween, Roberta was also very funny throughout the speech and she said that they raised a little over a grand Wednesday night, 2K on Thursday and a little under 4K Friday night for those wondering.

According to BC/EFA's social media pages, Kinky Boots has begun to collect donations. Don't know what's being offered.

Anyone know if they're collecting over at The King and I?

I've seen three different shows' pitches for BC/EFA during the past week (SYLVIA and revisits to CURIOUS INCIDENT and SOMETHING ROTTEN!), and one thing struck me:  While the post-curtain speeches were heartfelt and/or humorous, in keeping with the particular show's tone, none approached the zeal and excitement created when Hugh Jackman offered up items (and sometimes people) for auction.  I don't think any person or production will ever equal the unimaginably high amounts he collected.  If only for that reason, it would be great to have him back on Broadway.
