I recently picked up a copy of the script for the RSC version of Nicholas Nickleby, and noticed a few scenes that didn't make it into the version that got filmed for TV. this is no great surprise and the scenes cut are largely no great loss (and also account for a few awkward transitions in the video editing) but one textual descrepincy that did surprise me was the placement of the Mantolinis - in the script, they only appear in Part I,  with the scenes of Mr. Mantolini's forclousre and divorce occurring  intercut with Nicholas' adventures with the Crummels company. In the fil;med version, these last-mentioned scenes occur in part II. Indeed, in the filmed version (as in the novel) it is Mantolini who brings Ralph news that Hawk has been attacked by Nicholas.

Does anyone know if these were changes made for the film version, or were they already incorporated into the production? Furthermore, how does this stand in the 6-Hour version?

Wait - it is or it isn't a surprise?
