Didn't see a thread for this (aside from the one comparing Matthew Broderick to various inanimate objects) so I thought to start it, despite being a little early.
If anyone is going with a dog and doesn't want their Sylvia themed waste pick-up dispenser, I'd gladly take it off your hands. I'm going at the end of October. I think that's post-preview.
They/them.

This week s pretty high on my list to see....I.just don't know when.
If we're not having fun, then why are we doing it?
These are DISCUSSION boards, not mutual admiration boards. Discussion only occurs when we are willing to hear what others are thinking, regardless of whether it is alignment to our own thoughts.
I toy with the idea of getting tickets to Sylvia almost every day. Annaleigh Ashford is extremely, extremely high on my list of favorite stage performers. Matthew Broderick—at least, recent Matthew Broderick—is extremely, extremely low. However, Annaleigh (and Julie freakin' White) will probably end up compelling me to just spring for 'em.
Anyone go? Where were the seats? I almost went down, but I couldn't pull the trigger on seeing Another show with Matthew Broderick until he figured out how to be there, too.

LOL. Absolutely agree, he was atrocious in It's Only A Play.
Anyone went down today for the $19.95 tix? How are the seats?
They had orchestra and mezz tickets for all preview performances. I specifically requested an aisle seat, which i guess they had none in the orchestra so they put me in Row D of mezz on aisle. I was very happy with that, the Cort theater has an excellent mezzanine.
Any idea if any other shows will offer a discount offer like this? I know Dames at Sea is, wish more shows would do this! It's an amazing deal.
I got row D in the mezz on the aisle too. The orchestra seats I saw were K and back I believe, but very far to the side. I was very happy with the seats we got!
Broadway.com put out a cute rehearsals promo for the show. It's truly astounding to me, though, how much energy Matthew Broderick sucks out of anything these days. I ended up deciding to get tickets in favor of Annaleigh and Julie, but man...
I saw IT'S ONLY A PLAY and really liked it and thought it was very funny. Funnier than I thought it would be. I thought Matthew Broderick did a very good job. It was fun to see Ferris Bueller all grown up and in person although he's heavier and has grey hair....but aren't we all getting older? So why are people around here so down on him?
Based on interviews and things I've seen him in, he has no personality. His performances (excluding Ferris which was 30-something years ago) are lackluster and devoid of any energy. Obviously this is just my own opinion because I know others who enjoy him. I just don't get it.
I am one of few on here that enjoy Broderick on stage. I am usually drawn to performers that are subtle and dry in their humor and shy away from over the top performances. I actually like several of Broderick's films that don't include Ferris, for that very reason. I have enjoyed Broderick in his last two plays, but critics have not been kind. I suppose it's a matter of taste, you either get him or you don't. I never let critics influence what I like and don't like.
I am not a huge fan of the play Sylvia but believe that the part he will be playing might be perfect for him. Seems so but that remains to be seen. Chemistry amongst the company will be key here. I wish the production well.
