I've just come across this posted by a Facebook friend in Mississippi:

Has anyone seen any news about this play being filmed?

There's nothing (of which I've heard/read) going around about this being filmed in Jackson - Morgan Casting stuff usually gets people's attention, too.

Is this for the film adaptation that was announced way back when the play was running off-Broadway, which we have heard nothing about in the past seven or eight years? If this is actually going forward, I would be thrilled. I think Karam is one of our finest young playwrights, and Speech & Debate would make a wonderful indie comedy.

 Are you in Jackson? I find it odd that a casting notice like this is out without there being any record of this project on IMDB. I hope it's happening though, and think a good small film could be made based on this play.
