We're coming to NY and possibly half my family seeing Wicked.  Is there some site that sells discount tickets or is Wicked pretty much full price all the time?

Not the latter.

20 or more tix is a group sale discount. Otherwise, good luck.

"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

The only discounted tickets I've seen become available for Wicked is when they list a week's worth of performances at $75 a piece on Tix4Students every once in a while.

"Mostly, I loved the size of these people's emotions. Nobody has emotions this size anymore. Outsized emotions. Operatic emotions. Kushemski and Vanda are like Tristan and Isolde, they're Paolo and Francesca. Nobody's in total thrall like this anymore. Nobody's overcome by passion like this, or goes through this kind of rage." I did see a discount come up once on TravelZoo so maybe keep an eye there? They were towards the sides but not terrible seats.

Also if you don't mind being split up the partial view in the Orchestra are a good deal. You miss a small portion of the back side closest to you. But it's not a big deal.

Thanks for the responses.  I'm not a student and would only need 2 tickets so wouldn't qualify for those discounts (group or student).

Actually the seats in your post are probably what I'm looking at.  They run at around $97 and are close to the stage but on the side.  I'm ok with missing the odd parts.  It'll be my daughter's 2nd time seeing it and something like my 7th.  It's not like they spend the entire scene at the back right corner (or left)

You should download the TodayTix App for free on your SmartPhone.... You can buy tickets about a week ahead at a steep discount! I have seen WICKED tix on that app for as low as $59 I think!

You can use Use my code XIUEY at checkout to SAVE $20 off your order, too!

GOod luck!

Thanks for the advice.  Unfortunately I have a Windows phone and looks like it's not supported on it.up

TodayTix doesn't sell Wicked tickets at a steep discount nor does anyone else.  They sell them at full price.  He's just trying to confuse you by making it sound like you can get some great discount so he can shove his code down your throat while hoping you'll be too unfamiliar with the app to recognize you are paying full price. Personally I heard someone who used his code was hit by a truck the next day.  Can't say for sure the events are related but with so many other good people offering their codes and not trying to BS people, why would you risk it by using his?

Just in case you end up trying the app through someone else's phone...

I had been checking on the price of Wicked tickets through TodayTix for quite some time. The lowest ticket price I saw was $99 for rear, can't remember if it was orch or mezz. The TodayTix fees are about $10 I think, so if you're eligible for a first time purchase discount code, you're saving a little but it's not really a "steep discount."  I disagree and don't believe that tickets were listed for as low as $59.

Also as an FYI: I had previously used TodayTix to enter and win a mobile lottery for another show.  I didn't realize that that would count as my first purchase, and wasn't able to use a code when I tried to buy tickets for Wicked.

Try doing the lotto during a matinee. I was finally able to win it about a month ago during a Wednesday matinee.  There wasn't much of a crowd at all and there were only a few people who didn't get tickets.  I'm sure it's more crowded now that it's summer, but I think you'll have better luck at the matinee than the evening.

No idea about TodayTix but (1) I have Window's Phone so doesn't work, (2) above post turned me off...sounds odd.

Didn't realize that other shows (aside from Rent that I think started it) have lotto.  Are seats in the front too?  We would be seeing the Sat matinee so not sure if that is a busier one?

If I pre-purchase tickets I would get the ones for $97....near the front but on the side (partially obstructed).  I'd rather sit close and not see the odd part when they are at the back / side than sit further back.

The partial view seats are fine. It's good to not get the ones in the first few rows though. You want to be a little bit further back.

For instance, this is partial view seat H28:

Thanks so much for the picture!  Seats look great.

PS - We actually love front row but not for the cost.

I don't remember exactly what paid, but a few years back i got partial view orchestra seats for a good price. they were 2nd or third row on the left side, and it was the best! nothing beats being that close to the stage, especially for wicked. The costumes are so much more enthralling when seen from close up. I HIGHLY recommend partial view orchestra

Have done the lotto a few times, won twice and ended up falling asleep during the show both times.
