I guess "(2014 Film Version)" indicated songs that have been heavily rewritten/adapted, as opposed to those which are largely intact? Glad to see that "I Don't Need Anything But You" made the cut. "Something Was Missing" will be, ahem, missed.
The soundtrack sounds fun. This is clearly marketed toward teenyboppers, and not so much to us theatre folk, and that is OK. I will likely go see this and enjoy it for what it is.
If anyone ever tells you that you put too much Parmesan cheese on your pasta, stop talking to them. You don't need that kind of negativity in your life.

I think those are just the songs from the show that made it to this movie version. They are probably labeled like that to differentiate them from other versions on other recordings.
The video for You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile is ... different. If it's a video promoting the film, then it's ok. If it's the actual scene in the film...then it's disappointing.
^ the You're Never Fully Dressed Without A Smile is a promotional video sung by Sia. Not the actual cut from the film.
Honestly, I'm enjoying the new promo. It looks like a fun film for being a new take on Annie. I'll definitely be seeing it. Caught myself replaying the 2 soundtrack snippets today.
PS - Has anybody noticed the promo material now says it releases December 19 as opposed to December 25?
I'm pretty sure that there's been some reinterpretation done on all of the songs from the original musical that were kept for this modern version of the story.
We already know such is the case for "You're Never Fully Dressed (Without a Smile)" and at least one lyrical refrain from "It's a Hard-Knock Life", and I suspect that the same is true for "Easy Street" given that it's being sung by Miss Hannigan and Will Stacks' campaign manager Guy.
