I am continually impressed by On the Town's numbers. Also considering there were a ton of comps last week due to opening.

They're making 39% of their gross potential, why is that impressive?

It's like a see-saw compared to last week. So if all of this follows previous years' trends, overall things will continue to drop until week 45 (though 2012 and whatever the dark green line is saw huge drops that week, why)...

2012s drops were due in part to Superstorm Sandy.

I'm guessing 2012 saw a big drop that week due to Hurricane Sandy.

The green line is 2014, so those dates haven't happened yet.

When I see the phrase "the ____ estate", I imagine a vast mansion in the country full of monocled men and high-collared women receiving letters about productions across the country and doing spit-takes at whatever they contain. -Kad

Ohh, of course (Hurricane Sandy).

Anyone know what the dark green line is on the topmost enlarged chart? The light green is 2009 but I don't see a corresponding year for the other one. The dark green bars in the bottom graphs are 2007, which doesn't match the colors used in the top.

Edit: @givesmevoice But 2014 is the red line? I'm confused LOL :P

Compared to how I thought they were gonna do? I'm very impressed.

A Gentleman's Guide has been above 100% gross potential 12 times since the Tony Awards. In March and April it played weeks at 45% gross potential.

Congratulations to them and to their cool headed producers for being rewarded for their patience and tenacity.

Mama Mia is on life support

Methinks it goes in January along with a few others already announced or will be announced.

I'm shocked that Carly/Fran really brought in more than Keke/Sherri. I thought for sure Keke was a bigger name.

I thought Michael C. Hall would do better but that was only for 6 performances so I guess we'll find out.

"I'm shocked that Carly/Fran really brought in more than Keke/Sherri. I thought for sure Keke was a bigger name."

Starship - perhaps there is a lot of overlap between fans of Carly/Fran and fans of Keke/Sherri? If people in that overlapping venn diagram already saw Cinderella during the Carly/Fran run, perhaps they won't be interested in returning and the producers are left with fewer of those potential audience members to tap into now. Total speculation on my part.

Was this past week when Idina was on vacation? Because I can definitely see the lack of sales at If/Then...

anyone else think LOVE LETTERS will close early?? Nobody seems to want to pay to see to celebrities sit a read a script for 90 minutes or so.

"Because I can definitely see the lack of sales at If/Then..."

You mean the ability to tell which number is smaller this week than it was last week?!

It doesn't seem that the early in the week good reviews helped On The Town at all. The Last Ship also looks like it's still an easy comp to get.

But, aren’t grosses usually down the week of opening (at least compared to the previous week) because of comps and packing the house for when reviewers came? Not that these are great numbers by any means, but when I saw their gross for this week, I was impressed that it was up from last week. I thought maybe the good reviews gave it an extra bump for the weekend shows to compensate for packing the house earlier in the week. Or, did most of the reviewers come the previous week?

It opened Thursday with 4 big, potentially money-making performances after (4 performances that don't appear to have sold well); it's possible the Times rave won't significantly affect sales. It's also possible that it'll take time, but usually, when a show gets raves, the bump is immediate.

The bump may also happen overtime, newintown. The generally positive and rave reviews came out on a Thursday night and I doubt that would make people RUN, no - SPRINT to a show the very next night or two. Not to mention, we have no idea what kind of advance bump they've received since opening. All I know is, every time I pass the box office on my way to and from work it is packed. Give it some time, let them get their marketing out there and run with it. Don't drive it into the ground.

OTT is getting word of mouths raves. This is a perfect pick for theater parties, groups and tourists. You will see the grosses start to soar in a few weeks. This and Honeymoon will be the fall hits. Like last year's Gentlemen's... it will garner many awards this season. It will gross over 2 million during the holiday weeks. It deserves to be a huge smash hit.

"It will gross over 2 million during the holiday weeks."

Can you share your crystal ball?

Gentleman's was not a hit until the Tony nominations and the win, if you remember. It struggled through the winter, as will On the Town.
