I was going to ask this very question. Haven't seen it yet, but I want to see it. Looks like fun. There are tix on TDF, so it would be totally cheap too.

Lena Hall is connected to it somehow. She takes every chance she gets to promote it on social media.

Yes, I saw it in a previous incarnation and it was a BLAST! It's "Little Shop" meets uh, well...."Little Shop" is good, I'll just leave it there. Celine Dion is in the show, total non-sequitor and it works like gangbusters. Tons of fun.

Oops. Yes, she's a meme, of sorts. Lovely performance, though. Mr. Rooney should be very proud of himself. Great timing.

I believe that's Dionne Salon (obviously no relation to Celine Dion,) played by Brian Rooney--the New Yorker had a blurb review of it in their theatre section and said he was a standout. They liked the 80s music, said the ethnic and cliche jokes were stae, but ultimately enjoyed it and said it had a way of "getting under your skin." So, like a lot of New Yorker blurb reviews, I guess that's a recommendation?

Brian is a class act and very deserving of this success. His performance also happens to be nothing short of brilliant.

I loved it - and I'm not usually a fan of this kind of musical. But I am looking forward to seeing it again soon.

What do you mean "this kind of musical?"

Just trying to decide if I'd like it or not. Plot? Production values?

Hysterical! I forgot my playbill again. Oops. Well, Celine Dion is terrific in the show, I'd know her anywhere. You can name the character whatever you want to, but, It's HER gosh darn it and she's funny and sweet ...and the show is adorable, too. Great direction by Bob Bartley. xo

Yeah... the character is called Dionne Salon and as far as parodies go it's as subtle as a brick to the face.

"A non sequitur can denote an abrupt, illogical, unexpected or absurd turn of plot or dialogue not normally associated with or appropriate to that preceding it. A non sequitur joke has no explanation, but it reflects the idiosyncrasies, mental frames and alternative world of the particular comic persona"....Dramatic Lit. Major, here. Use of precise terminology just slips out from time to time, mea culpa...now where's my playbill? xo

I had so much fun at this show and so did the rest of the roaring audience who gave this a rare off-Broadway standing ovation. I highly suggest anyone who likes zany new musicals to see this now during it's final week. I really hope it has a future and would love to see Lena Hall back in the lead. Though the current lead is fantastic anyway. New World Stages maybe?

I adored the show. It's like ROCKY HORROR meets LITTLE SHOP. It closes soon. Don't miss it!
