Hi, I am going to NYC and would love to see On The Town! However, the only day I have left is the day after it opens. I would love to see Alysha Umphrees, a friend of my Dad and his friends. Do you think I have good chances?
Absolutely yes. It is the largest theater on Broadway. There will be seats to sell. Also try downloading the TodayTix app. Or use the code at BroadwayBox.com. All of those are ways to get discount tickets that will end up costing about the same.
"The Spectacle has, indeed, an emotional attraction of its own, but, of all the parts, it is the least artistic, and connected least with the art of poetry. For the power of Tragedy, we may be sure, is felt even apart from representation and actors. Besides, the production of spectacular effects depends more on the art of the stage machinist than on that of the poet."

Even if it gets rave reviews, I don't think they'll ever sell out that barn consistently. There's just too many seats. It should be at TKTS consistently, and it has been whenever I check the app.
Words don't deserve that kind of malarkey. They're innocent, neutral, precise, standing for this, describing that, meaning the other, so if you look after them you can build bridges across incomprehension and chaos. But when they get their corners knocked off, they're no good anymore…I don't think writers are sacred, but words are. They deserve respect. If you get the right ones in the right order, you can nudge the world a little.
