The production will sell $35 tickets for every performance. There will be two ways to purchase these tickets.
OPTION ONE
Starting every Monday for the current week of performances, 20 seats for each of that week’s performances (160 seats per week) will be available for advance purchase for $35, only at the Circle in the Square box office. Customers will be able to purchase one or two tickets with a photo ID. The customer will receive a receipt and the tickets will be held in their name at the box office. The tickets will be available for pick-up at the box office one hour before the purchased performance and the ticket holder will need to show ID and receipt to receive the tickets. The policy will go into effect starting on Monday, October 27 at 10:00 AM at the Circle in the Square Theatre box office for the first week of performance.
OPTION TWO
There will also be 20 tickets available for $35 and sold for day-of performances, available for purchase when the box office opens daily at 10:00 AM (noon for Sunday performances).
A new section of “riverbank” bench seating has been added to the theatre’s configuration for the production of THE RIVER. These seats are located in the front two rows, encircling the set design. The seats, which will be $95 and will be available online at www.telecharge.com and at the box office, will provide a unique and personal vantage point for this intimate production.
The production will have $30 standing room locations available for purchase. The seats will be on sale at the box office and available when the performance is sold out.
Riverbank seating, that should be interesting. It does not say, but I wonder if they will be partial view at times because of the set pieces. I grabbed one anyway, since I do not want to depend on getting rush ticket and these are way more affordable than the regular seats.
The $35 seats were announced back in May. Surely the other revised pricing has nothing to do with the rumors I've heard that ticket sales are far below what the producers were expecting.
First of all, I doubt that rumor is true considering the fact that Hugh Jackman always sells out any show that he is in, but if so it's because not many people would want to pay $175+ for a largely unfamiliar, one act play that not many people know much about! I think you would agree with me on that one right @NoName3?
I really like this Monday morning idea, and I've never heard of any other show doing that. It's great that so many reasonable tickets will be made available. Does anyone recall another show doing the Monday thing?
I have not heard of an advance RUSH before ( not this early during the week anyway). Also, they have committed to 20 advance sale and 20 day- of- performance sale. A total of 40 RUSH seats for the day!
I really don't see people lining up at midnight until the very end of the run. And if there's 20 tickets per show available for the week, they will have 160 tickets every Monday. Plus another 20 every day they have a show, or 40 if they have two shows. Get there one of the first few Mondays at 9 and I bet you'd have no problem getting a ticket.
Being not at all familiar with the set design for this show, what would we say is the better vantage point: The 200's (on the aisle, or closer to center?), or the 100's?
This will be much more popular than people think. It is Tiny and $175>$35 is a huge discount there will be scalperslining up at Midnight...most other Rushes have 100-200 seats PER show.
Most other rushes do not have 100-200 seats per show (at least on Broadway). I've seen as few as 8 and and as many as 40. I've never seen in the vicinity of 100. (40 is the max I've seen.) And, 1/2 WON'T be going to scalpers because you have to show ID and only that person will be able to pick up the tickets one hour before the performance using their ID. (They did something like this when Fantasia was in The Color Purple to prevent scalping. It worked well.)

By the time you know the answer to this, you probably won't be able to buy a riverbank seat. It's a dice roll...
I think you will loose a little perspective being so close and the seats are benches with a cushion so they won't be as comfortable, but there almost half price and you will be very close to the 3 actors and maybe even get in eye contact of Hugh... Worth it too me...
@WickdMisrbleI really don't think you'll lose any perspective due to the size of the stage and the intimacy of the theatre Plus, don't you think the seats would be more comfortable with a cushion? Lol
