Is this show any good? It seems REALLY good and i missed it when it was on broadway. Since its going on tour, I'm wandering if I should see it in Washington DC.

Angela Lansbury is 150 years old. This may be the last thing she ever does. Do you want to miss the opportunity of saying "I saw Angela Lansbury in her farewell performance"?

The show is terrific, and she was terrific in it in the 2009 revival. I will say however, that despite the starry cast of Lansbury, Everett, Ebersole, and Atkinson, the unknown Susan Louise O'Connor stole the show in the role of Edith.

We saw this in London and seems like much of the cast is transferring.
It was great. Really great.
Ms. Lansbury was terrific and just knows how to milk that stage. (Even if she is reportedly wearing an ear piece for prompts if needed).
I don't think she missed a performance in London.

Just learned it's coming to Toronto at the Mirvish Season Launch. I'm really excited. I'm such a fan of hers. Frankly, I'd watch her do anything. She can read the phone book for all I care.

SHUT THE FRONT DOOR. At this point, I assumed I'd missed my opportunity to ever see Dame Angela on stage (other than at Sondheim's 75th at the Bowl). So friggin excited about this. And what an added to treat to get the West End cast with her - they all seemed to get high praise this past year. Where is Wil(l)? Did his head explode?

Of course you are, Promises! You're either with Angela, or you're with the terrorists.

No, the show is horrible.
This is why they reprised it for The West End and now taking to North America for a four city tour.

I literally say that to people about Patti LuPone. I love theatre people.

Just got an email from Center Theatre Group that it is the replacement production at the Ahmanson in December 2014/January 2015. So all season ticket holders automatically get tickets.

I just got my email from CTG too. I was not happy that the Ahmanson's season included Heaartbeat of Home in the season, instead of as an add-on, so I was quite happy that it was dropped. Now I'm positively giddy.

I started crying today when I heard this was coming to DC. I never thought I would get the chance to see her.

It's not the best Noël Coward play, but it is a pretty top-notch production with a luminous performance from perhaps the greatest theatre actress of all time. I've already seen it a number of times and I will probably try to make it to San Francisco when it goes there so I can see it again.

Well I didn't want to get into it, but he's a Satanist. Every full moon he sacrifices 4 puppies to the Dark Lord and smears their blood on his paino. This should help you understand the score for Wicked a little bit more. Tazber's: Reply to Is Stephen Schwartz a Practicing Christian

Regardless of her age, her comic timing and stage presence are exemplary. Loved her in this.

It's a wonderful, funny production and Ms Lansbury is superb in it. A total masterclass in acting and so sprightly on stage it's hard to believe she is nearly 90.

Definitely worth seeing. My mother is a total musical fan and despises most "talkies", but I strong-armed her into seeing it on Broadway because she has always wanted to see Angela Lansbury (as had I), and even she ended up enjoying it. A very pleasant and frothy romp with a stellar cast at the time. I don't know how the remainder of the touring cast measures up, but ironically I thought the two standouts on Broadway were Lansbury and Susan Louise O'Connor, both of whom are in the tour. It is very light and becomes more entertaining as it goes along, plus the chance to see Lansbury reprise a Tony-winning part is alone worth the price of admission.

I saw her at the "It's only a play" opening and she seemed a little off (dazed and confused). She was very slow in responding to questions and couldn't remember certain past events when questioned by a reporter.

Oh for Pete's sake, broadwayfever. The woman's approaching 90. She might have been a little unwell, not gotten enough sleep, just be having an off day - like all of us at some point - but at nearly 90 it might show a bit more. If you see any of her very recent interviews/appearances from earlier this year, you'll see she's still in remarkable shape and very sharp.
