I recently signed up for HipTix because I'd really like to see Cabaret with Michelle Williams. The seat choices were not great, mostly last 2 rows of the mezzanine. I'm tempted to spring for HipTix Gold, but I don't really want to spend the $75 only to find out that the seats offered are not much better. Can any HipTix Gold members out there tell me what their experience has been, what kind of seats they were offered and whether or not they thought the upgrade was worth it?

I think the upgrade is absolutely worth it. All bar rail seats, side orchestra seats, and the entire mezz are $25 for Gold members.

HipTix Gold is amazing. I have it and I sat in center orchestra at Cabaret. Whenever the actors would come into the audience (mostly Alan Cumming) they were right in front of me. And it was only $25!! I also sat in center orchestra for Violet. I'm planning on doing the same for all of the Roundabout shows. I can't wait for Into the Woods. When you think about it you can split the $75 with a friend and share the membership bc you get two tickets for each show out of it anyway.

HipTix Gold is absolutely worth it. I was able to get orchestra seats to both Cabaret and Violet the same week that I upgraded.

djoko84 - how did you sit orchestra center? I thought for both Cabaret and Violet it was only good for the sides downstairs.

I have HipTix gold and I'm still debating about when to go and where to sit.
• Should I see Michelle Williams or Emma Stone? I don't personally care for one actress over another.
• Are the tables toward the back of the theater good views? Would the front mezzanine tables be better?
• Does the cast come into the audience in the back of the orchestra? What about mezz? I'm not really interested in having them really up in my face.

^^ I once sat in the last row of tables (Table 182, I think) and the view was fine. You miss a little bit of the action on the second level of the stage, but nothing crucial. If you can get a table in the first two rows of the orchestra, you will be able to see everything perfectly. Being off to the sides is really not much of a problem for Cabaret since it's a thrust stage, so I'd say a table in the front of the orchestra but on the side is still better than a more central table farther back. I've never sat in the mezz, but would imagine the views are great, especially if you're near the front. Alan walks up and down the orchestra aisles during one song (no interaction with the audience aside from some eye contact, maybe), but no other cast members walk into the orchestra. No cast members in the mezz.

As for which actress to see, I'm not crazy about Michelle Williams as Sally and am looking forward to Emma Stone. But we have no idea how Emma will be until she starts....

Personally, after seeing Michelle Williams I would wait to see Emma Stone. If I already used my hiptix for Cabaret, and I sign up for hiptix gold can I see it again from the orchestra? I want to do this for Into the Woods too? Are tickets available this way for Christmas week? I have a relative visiting from Ireland and want to take her to both!

Is the $75 a one time donation do you have to make one every year?

Broadway_Boy, as far as I understand it, you can only use Hiptix (either regular or Gold) once per show. So I believe if you've already purchased Hiptix for Cabaret you would not be able to see it again with Hiptix even if you upgraded to Gold. But give them a call--they're pretty helpful! I believe Hiptix are available Christmas week.

It's definitely worth it. A front row Mezzanine seat for $25? It's a steal.

I agree it's a fantastic deal. I got 2 front mezz seats for Cabaret last year for $125 if you include the donation - that's less than the face value of one ticket.

I also think it's very generous that as a Hiptix member you can bring a guest of any age for the $25 price. I can inexpensively treat my older sister or parent to a show which is wonderful.

You can also go twice by yourself btw, it doesn't matter how you use the 2 tickets.

You can also get, depending on the production, front Orch seats with Gold.

Cool - I didn't realize you could go twice as a single, that's good to know. And yeah, I got great orchestra seats for She Loves Me. If you jump on the seats as soon as they go on sale, the selection is amazing. Even if you're later to the game they usually still have a decent number available.
