Hello, is there any news on the current broadway cast recording Les Miserables? I know there are already many recordings. Any hope for this cast having one?
There is no news because it isn't happening. The market for Les Miz recordings is over saturated as it is. With the recent addition of the 25th anniversary recording, another one really isn't necessary.
I don't think that we'll be getting a full recording but I would like to see a highlights album. Ramin's version of Bring Him Home is too beautiful to not document.
I would love to hear a revival cast album. It seems a shame not to release one. When I saw the show, Nikki was out; and as great as her understudy was, I would love to hear her Eponine. (Haters gonna hate, I know, but the girl's got a beautifully strange voice.) Meanwhile fanboys and girls will have to settle for the Times's "In Performance" of Ramin doing a sumptuous "Bring Him Home" (not quite as goose-bump-inducing as the real thing, but still lovely):
"There wasn't even a separate audio recording of the 25th anniversary concert."
A friend of mine sent me an album of the concert to add to iTunes. Was that just audio some random person ripped from the DVD? (I'm not being sarcastic, this is a legitimate question.)

Although at first it seems there wouldn't be a need, they could probably easily sell a highlights cd or something along the lines of what How To Succeed did as the show itself has fans worldwide who would buy it and Ramin himself has quite a growing loyal fanbase
I wish they would, but I guess it's not going to happen. I just saw this tonight and the cast was incredible, really strong all around. I would have loved a recording of any of Ramin's songs and any song featuring Kyle Scatliffe. What incredible voices.
Ramin recorded "Bring Him Home" (as well as "I Dreamed A Dream") as a bonus track for his self-titled album. It's floating around Tumblr somewhere, I know.
