I kinda wish she would just do a show about her career a la "At Liberty". I don't care to hear "Pirate Jenny" or "Blibao Song". I wanna hear "Meadowlark" and "As if We Never Said Goodbye"!

She doesn't do "As If We Never Said Goodbye," but the concert you want is Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda, which she tours quite frequently. She actually just did it at 54 Below.

I'm seeing her on Tuesday and am so excited! Lady With the Torch was the first solo concert of hers that I saw, all the way back in 2006.

She actually sang With One Look at Carnegie Hall. But if you want a career retrospective show, then you should see Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda.

I haven't been able to talk about this because it was so very traumatic.

I went to see Patti at Santa Monica College, and she did two shows. I foolishly went to see the first, early show. At the second show which I did not attend she did a bunch of songs I've been waiting my whole life to see her sing. I was absolutely devastated. I wrote to Seth Rudetsky about it, and he did apologize.

I shall never speak of it again. It's too painful!!

PalJoey you're absolutely incorrigible!

When I got home later and saw the setlist of the second show I nearly poltzed. Oy gevalt what a terrible thing that was.

Wasn't Coulda, Woulda, Shoulda, a look at all the roles she could have, would have, or should have played? I don't remember it as much of a career retrospective. I know she does a few pieces from shows she was in, but even then, it's largely songs that weren't associated with her character. All I distinctly remember was her doing an audience sing-a-long of Trouble from The Music Man.

Oh yes, she did that Music Man thing in Santa Monica. That I did not enjoy. I mean it was fine but why take up valuable stage time singing Music Man when you could be signing The Perfect Year from Sunset or something?

Probably because everything from The Music Man is better than everything from Sunset Boulevard?

She usually appends the phrase "Or did play," and she often includes several of her most famous pieces.

I'm seeing her Friday night and I can't wait. I've only ever seen her on stage once when her and Mandy Patinkin came to the Kennedy Center for An Evening with Patti LuPone and Mandy Patinkin, and that remains to be in my top three of shows that I loved the most. There's just something about her when she is on stage that takes my breath away! And I'm obsessed with her The Lady and the Torch album so I will definitely be in heaven on Friday night!

I shared a glorious night with two dear BWW friends. Patti looked beautiful, sang beautifully, and seemed to be having the time of her life. As did I.

Go if you can!

She does in her "Far Away Places" show; not in this one (though you do get the likes of Porter, Berlin, and Gershwin).

I'm not sure what she's singing at 54 Below (but I'm going tonight!) so Reggie can give a better answer than I, but when I saw Lady With the Torch in 2006, she did almost all of the album and the ...Still Burning EP. I think the only songs that she didn't sing were Don't Like Goodbyes and Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas.
