I know that Lynn Ahrens has been wanting to do this show for a really long time, and I'm glad that they are finally doing it.

Daddy Warbucks, that 54 Below concert mentioned by tazber was (I believe) the one recorded for Ahrens and Flaherty's new 'Nice Fighting You' CD. I believe the album songs 'Ballerina' and 'Dancing Still' are from Little Dancer.

The only person I know who has been cast is NYCB principal, Tyler Peck.

Thanks for the info.

Of course, when I clicked on the first link..it notes Rebecca, Tiler and Boyd Gaines. I am pretty sure I looked there before and didn't see any specific names. So either they updated the page that is linked.....or I am having a brain melt down/senior moment. Either way is entirely possible.

Just received this in the mail from the Kennedy Center:

Inside is a whole bunch of information about the work of art itself/a small summary of what the musical is going to be about with some GORGEOUS artwork. Not sure how to post multiple images, but if anybody wants I can take pictures of the inside of the pamphlet. Each page contains a sentence from lyrics from I'm guessing the show.

Here are some samples:
"If I'd never been a dancer,
if I'd never seen the artist,
if I'd only walked away…
But life turns upon a moment
like a dancer on her toe shoes…" from the song, "C'est le Ballet".

"Who's always prancing like
a pony doing fancy tricks?
Who's dancing in a line along with lunatics?

never getting fat? A rat!" from the song, "A Rat".

"The cocky nose,

The excellent Guggenheim Works and Process series talked with the authors and showed excerpts from Little Dancer last year.
