I have tickets for this in June...but I don't think I can wait now that I'm obsessed with the concept album.

Anyone try recently?

BUMP! Anyone try this even if the show is sold out?

We rushed yesterday (Sunday 5/19) and it was pretty disorganized, but we were able to get tickets. One major plus is that you can wait inside rather than queuing up outside!

We arrived at 11, but were told the box office opened at 1 (even though I read online noon). We came back around 12:15 there were no stanchions set up, so people were all waiting in random spots and couches around the lobby. When the box office opened, everybody got in line, but not necessarily in the order in which they arrived. That said, we got two tickets and the group behind us got 3 with little trouble.

Curious...where were the seats located, or did they release GA tickets?

This is a non-traditional show set in a disco, so (with the exclusion of a few box seats) everybody is GA and stands, moves and dances along for the whole show.

I'm aware...there are also obstructed view seats on stage. I'm just curious if the tickets are for seats or GA floor.

Where are there obstructed view seats on the stage?? I certainly haven't seen them there.

They are a pair of seats inside a little box behind the lights on the right stage (if you are facing the entrance of the theater). I sat there two weekends ago. They are definitely partial view but considering they were only 30 bucks each (76 with service and you must buy the pair). You miss a lot towards the back (again, as if facing the exit of the theater) but they have a flat screen inside the box showing the obstructed action. Despite being in this little box, the cast really interacted with me and my guest.

I have GA tickets for mid-June but I was desperate to see this after hearing the concept recording...certainly scratched the itch but I still can't wait to return. May try the rush this weekend, in fact.

Looks like you'll have the chance to see it again. They've extended through July 28.

Also, they do sell student rush tickets in advance, if you're a student. I bought floor seat tickets for next week about three weeks ago. Can't beat that deal! Updated On: 5/21/13 at 11:24 PM

Now that it’s been extended through July 28th, I have the option of seeing this when I am in NYC. A few questions, though:

Wickedrocks, how did you get your student tickets in advance? Are they only doing that at the theatre or do you think I would be able to call?

Also, for those who have stood: are you encouraged to dance during the show? I don’t act my age and am not a fan of going to clubs, but I do want to see this show (and from what it sounds like, being seated makes you miss much of the show).

I can only comment on purchasing student tickets because I'm not seeing the show until next month.

You can only purchase advance student tickets in person at the box office. They have to look at your student ID and then they input your name into the computer (which I've never seen done before). It's also one ticket per ID.

Thanks, Clyde. Perhaps I can call and see if they are able to reserve a student ticket for me over the phone and check my ID when I pick up the ticket. Probably not, but I might as well try.

Out of curiosity, anyone know why they input your name into the computer? Are you only allowed one student ticket per the whole run? Or, is this a way to ensure that the same person doesn't come back to the box office twice to purchase a second student ticket for the same show?

"from what it sounds like, being seated makes you miss much of the show"

Please, anyone who's been, tell me this is not the case.

We bought our pair for Friday June 28th (my Birthday :)), but all the Box office had was full view in the balcony seating. Is there anything we'll miss from that vantage point, besides the joy of dancing alongside the rest of the audience on the floor?

I also want to echo the previous poster's question. I have mild cerebral palsy and walk with a walker, so seating is ideal, but if I'll be seeing significantly better theatre, I'll stand for 90 minutes if I must.

They do not have rush when they're sold out. Tried today.

If you cannot order tickets online for a certain performance, does that absolutely mean that the performance is sold out and therefore no rush will be available?

Has anyone tried this recently? I'm wondering what my chances would be on a weeknight like tonight and how early I'd need to be in line. Anyone have an informed guess??

The day we rushed, there were not tickets available online. I believe the tickets we got were holds released that morning.

The action moves all around--there is a stage at either end and platforms along the sides and in the middle. I didn't sit for the show, but I think you would be able to see just fine for at least 90% of the show. It's possible that you might have trouble seeing the side platform directly under your seats, but there's no major action that I recall happening there.

They do encourage you to dance or bop along with the music, but aren't very pushy about it. There's one point in the show where they teach you a little line dance, and then it comes back toward the end of the show.

There are tons of general admission standing tickets available for tonight at 9:30 PM, but I bit the bullet and paid full price. I'm sure the show is worth $100 - I think I'll faint when I hear "Walk Like A Woman" and "Eleven Days" live.

Congrats to all those who get rush and are standing near me for under $30!

I would be cautiously optimistic because I just saw it and they totally changed "Walk Like a Woman."

When I bought my tickets for today's matinee of Venice I tried to get tickets for the 5 pm show of Here Lies Love but it was sold out. I checked every once in a while to see if they released any tickets, did so again last night and saw that two Obstructed view tickets were available. I was going to just check with the box office before Venice but did not want to chance it and just grabbed the two online. Really want to check it out, hopefully the seats are not so bad and damper the experience.

Luv2: see my post above, those seats are really not that bad. You see pretty much everything and the cast will ask you to join the GA group for the last 1/3 of the show.

Have fun! I'm going again next week and cannot wait! Completely obsessed with this show.
