I'm debating ordering tickets to the "Lord of the Rings" concert at Radio City next month, but I need some help on seating. I've never been to such a large theatre before. I can get tickets in the front row of the Second Mezzanine (there are three mezzanines.) Can someone who has been there before tell me if those are good seats or is it just way too far back? Is it worth it to spend an additional $20 and get seats in row TT of the Orchestra but more towards the side?

I haven't been there yet but the interactive seating plan they have on their website is good to show what the view would be from different sections of the theatre. You just need to click on the section and you will get a picture showing the view.

If it were me, I'd definitely choose the mezz over Row T of the orch.

I haven't been to Radio City in many many years but from what I understand the screen they use to show movies there is HUGE and you will more than likely be totally fine with 2nd mezzanine...I'm pretty sure that is what I have.

"If it were me, I'd definitely choose the mezz over Row T of the orch."

He actually said Row TT, which is much closer than Row T.

The mezz will give you a full view of the stage, but everything will be smaller. I'd spend the extra $20 to sit on the floor.

Yeah, at Radio City row TT is actually 19 seats from the front, with 28 seats further behind it (AA-ZZ then A-W.) In a regular theatre I'd pick the front Mezz right away, but from that seating chart posted above it looks like I'd be miles away. I think I'll probably go for the Orchestra seats. Thanks guys!

Oh I see. Sorry! I take back my other comment and say go for TT then. The mezz is very far back, I just thought that Row T would be about the same distance. But if TT is about 19 rows back, you'll have a fantastic view. Go for it! re: Radio City Music Hall seating questions

I would have to agree with spending the extra $20 on row TT. I have sat in the 2nd Mezz for the Tonys and while they are good seats because of the screens they use and you are able to see the whole show, I would rather be closer to see the people.

Has anyone ever sat on the far sides of the floor? I'm looking at a seat in row TT in Section 7 of the orchestra; while I don't expect that to be too far back, I'm concerned it'll be too far to the side and that it'll be an obstructed view. Any thoughts?

The interactive seating chart has been taken off Radio City's website unfortunately, which is why I'm asking. Updated On: 10/31/14 at 10:13 PM

I have had tickets over there, but always ended up upgrading/scalping them for concerts, so never actually used them. It depends on the show, though. The Rockettes Christmas Show has a lot of choreography and such that plays better straight on. But a band or comic, angle is less of an issue...

I also prefer to use this seating chart, since you can zoom in and see exactly what seat you're getting, for events where Ticketmaster is picking for you:

Thanks, that seating chart is much better than what Ticketmaster has to offer. It's for a concert, and I see your point about it being less likely that the angle will be an issue. Unless anything better pops up, I may just grab that seat. Thanks again for the help!
