Cyndi Lauper and Billy Porter, who worked together on the hit Broadway musical 'Kinky Boots,' stopped by this morning's Today to talk about touring with Cher and the release of Porter's new album, 'Back on Broadway.' During the interview, Porter called Lauper, "the Godmother of Individuality!" Check out the appearance below!

Billy Porter won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Performance by a Leading Actor in a Musical for his portrayal of 'Lola' in KINKY BOOTS. His other Broadway credits include Miss Saigon, Five Guys..., Grease, Smokey Joe's..., Dreamgirls. Off-Broadway/ Regional: Angels In America, Merchant of Venice, Radiant Baby, Birdie Blue, Songs For a New World, Ghetto Superstar (One-Man Show), Topdog/Underdog, King Lear, The Further Adventures of Hedda Gabler. Cyndi Lauper won the 2013 Tony Award for Best Original Score (music and/or lyrics) written for the theater for KINKY BOOTS, making her the first woman to win the Tony solo for Best Score of a Musical. Go Cyndi!
