As one glorious concert ends, another rehearsal process has begun in full swing! Our cast of "Fantastical Family Fun Night" has been at it rehearsing all week! This show has some goodies in it such as a fantastic tap routine to Step in Time, a groovy Jackson Five Medley, and I get to sing some Disney! Heaven! The arrangement is "When you Wish Upon a Star" as a quartet which I think will be so beautiful under the stars in Jack London State Park. I also love the chance to have an excuse to sing to the stars and make my own wishes for things to come. When is the last time you wished on a star? In New York City, you never see any stars. Sonoma's night skies glitter nightly.

This show has a little something for everyone...and always the unexpected surprises... like a stand up comedy set in the middle of the concert. That is a Transcendence first! Erin McGuire kills it! So many new songs to learn and dances to get into my brain before we starts the kids camp next week! Time Flies!

This week I went to see "Superheros in Love" starring the newly engaged Nick Dromard and Desi "Doot Doot" Davar. It took place at the Paradise Ridge Winery. You enter the winery and the sculptures on your way to where the stage is located are stunning. I felt like I was back that the MOMA in NYC.

We got out of the car and entered the stage of dreams. Dr. Byck, as we call him, had a dream of building a stage and with the encouragement of dream weaver, Amy Miller and the Transcendence Theatre Company he created a stunning space that overlooks an incredible view. We grabbed a glass of vino and were bundled up for a chilly evening - gloves, hats, blankets... California isn't always warm! The show began with cameos by superheroes running about : Nick and Desi as Superman and Wonder woman (both looking tight and toned...someone does cross fit!!), a very handsome Eric Jackson as Batman, and even Matt Smart at the piano entering as Spiderman... The audiences were howling and we knew we were in for a treat. The whole evening full of heart, hilarity, and fantastic dancing - including a fantastic tapping doing "Good Morning" adding in the ever talented Stephen Stubbins. Is there anything that man can't do? As for Nick and Desi, they can do it all and seem like a match made it heaven. They shared with the audience how Nick had popped the question two evenings before on that very stage and melted our hearts. The stand out for me was Desi singing "All About That Bass" as Liza Minelli - full Judy Garland references as the song lyrics: Oh, my mama said you don't got to worry about your size...". It was a GENIUS take on it. I hope they do this show again as the sold out house could not get enough. Look at this video promo and tell me you wouldn't have a could time at this:

We had our first night on the stage with the new cast! Another evening to bundle up and space the show on the stage. I feel like I am bringing out my inner "Kids Incorporated" mojo when in this show! Something I love is that the lyrics in these songs stand out to me as an adult and I can't wait to see both kiddos and grown-ups respond to this show. They will leave enchanted, charmed, inspired, and exuberant from having the BEST NIGHT EVER!

Coming up: Megan Hilty (star from NBC's "Smash", and Broadway's "Wicked") performs in concert with Transcendence on July 25th. Learn more about Transcendence Theatre Company and our Broadway Under The Stars concerts at: www.TTCsonoma.org
